Criminal Defense & DUI

Every year, large numbers of servicemen face criminal charges.  To a serviceman, just being charged with a crime can have significant repercussions.  Unlike in the civilian criminal justice system, where you are innocent until proven guilty, the chain of command seems to assume guilt when someone has been charged with a crime.  There is little I can do to get around this, except work with my military clients and their chain of command to try to mitigate the effects of a criminal charge.  Although being charged with a crime is bad, being convicted is even worse.  We do have a long track record of success, including numerous not guilty verdicts, handling both felony and misdemeanor charges in civilian court.  This includes hundreds of DUI cases.

As a serviceman, it is imperative that you avoid having a criminal record.  A criminal conviction can mean the end of your military career or, at the very least, will impede your military career.  It can undermine an entire lifetime of accomplishment.  We understand the tremendously negative repercussions that any type of criminal conviction can have.  This is why we enjoy representing servicemen in criminal cases — because this is an area where we are able to make a significant positive impact on people’s lives.

Personal Injury / Auto Accident

Accidents can happen to anyone, and they usually happen when they are least expected.  Tucson’s particular mix of young and old drivers, as well as its often substandard streets, makes auto accidents in particular all to common.  The bottom line is that if your injuries occurred as a result of someone else’s negligence or recklessness — whether the injury occurred on or off base, on the roadway, or at a commercial establishment or special event — you deserve to be compensated for your losses.  These include medical bills, lost wages, and pain and suffering.

Like a criminal conviction, a serious injury can affect the rest of your life.  It can reduce future earnings and opportunities, as well as quality of life.  Some very serious injuries result in victims requiring a lifetime of care at great expense.  While no amount of money can ever compensate someone for an injury like this, it is important that you get enough money to receive the care that you need.  My job is to get you that money while you focus on your recovery.

Reasonable Fees

I always advise people to speak with several attorneys, because it’s important to find someone they are comfortable with. If you do this, ask about the fees that each lawyer charges.  Hiring a criminal defense attorney is not inexpensive — it takes time and expertise to do an effective job — but I think you will find that my fees are reasonable.  You’ll notice that I’m certainly not the least expensive attorney out there, but I’m also not the most expensive. I do offer payment plans if necessary. I think it’s important to make my services accessible to people, but I also need to make a living while keeping my caseload small enough to enable me to do exceptional work on each case.

In personal injury and auto accident cases, I work on a contingency fee basis.  This means that you don’t pay me unless I win the case.  My fee is taken out of any recovery I obtain on your behalf.  There are also no up-front fees or costs.  Instead, I front any costs involved and am then reimbursed from the recovery.  Given this contingency fee arrangement, I will not take an injury case unless I am confident I can win.

I would be happy to discuss the details of your case, at no charge, to determine whether I can help.  I try not to take new cases unless I believe there is some way that I can improve your situation because I want to make sure you are getting value from my services.  I am also always concerned with getting good results — it’s how I earn my reputation and ensure future business.
